creating communities to be proud of

If you're thinking of moving home, there are several options that you can consider.
You can apply for a transfer from your current home at any point. Your application will be assessed and you will be awarded points according to your need.
Contact the Lettings team for further information on 0845 849 2000 option 2.
Most secure council and housing association tenants have a legal right to exchange, whereas assured tenants only have a right to exchange if it is granted as part of their tenancy agreement.
Landlords may withhold permission in certain circumstances, for instance if they think the accommodation being exchanged into is too small or too large for the tenant's needs.
The tenant's existing tenancy agreement may give other examples. If either exchange partner is in rent arrears, the landlord may give consent which is conditional upon the arrears being cleared.
Both exchange partners need to get the consent of each landlord before swapping and landlords should let them know whether they will be given secure or assured tenancies.
Shoreline will need to visit your property before any permission is given, and will ask for a housing register application for anyone asking to move into a Shoreline property. All reference checks and rent arrears must be clear and the property must be in satisfactory condition.
The law in Scotland is different and landlords should be able to advise tenants on how to swap tenancies.
If you are a tenant of Shoreline Housing Partnership, another Registered Social Landlord or a secure tenant of a Council, you may be eligible to exchange or ‘swap’ your property with another tenant.
A Mutual Exchange is a quick way for two households to swap homes and move to the areas of their choice.
Details of people who want to swap their homes are shown in the Mutual Exchange Register at Shoreline Housing Partnership and North East Lincolnshire Council offices – click here for details of where you can find these offices.
It’s easy to register your interest in the scheme: you just need to complete the application form and your details will be displayed in the Mutual Exchange Register which is available to all interested tenants.
It is up to you to find someone to swap with you. You may place adverts in shop windows, local press or in one of Shoreline Housing Partnership’s offices.
When you find another tenant with whom you would like to exchange, you will need permission from us to do so. You will both be visited and any conditions of your move will be discussed with you.
By applying to the Mutual Exchange Register, you are giving us permission to pass on your details to other interested parties.

HomeSwapper is a UK-wide scheme for social tenants who want a house swap. This is also called mutual exchange. If you live in a council house or housing association property you can swap.
Shoreline have paid to join this scheme and so it is free for Shoreline tenants to use.
