Life doesn’t always go smoothly, unexpected events have a habit of cropping up and causing problems – look at the 2007 floods for instance. And although we cannot stop these events we can prepare and plan for them.

What we’ve provided below is a selection of links to useful documents and information to help you plan and prepare in case of an emergency

North East Lincolnshire Council have published a leaflet called Get ready for the unexpected this explains how the council works alongside the emergency services and other agencies to prepare for the unexpected and provides measures you can take so you know what to do in an emergency.

  • The Environment Agency provides guidance on their website on what you can do in the event of a flood.
  • The Humber Emergency Planning Service provides advice on what to do in the event of a range of major incidents from swine flu to industrial incidents.
  • The Met Office provides severe weather warnings, which gives a warning of bad weather.
