Time-lapse video captures ‘supermoon’ over Grimsby

Shoreline has exclusively unveiled time-lapse footage of December’s ‘supermoon’ lighting up the skies over North East Lincolnshire.

The video – taken from the top of Thesiger House high-rise block - captures the moon brightening up the night sky as it travels over Grimsby, Cleethorpes and the River Humber.

A supermoon is one which appears brighter and larger than usual and this is the last opportunity to see one in 2017.

Watch the video to see the supermoon travel across the night sky.

Thesiger House - one of six East Marsh blocks earmarked for demolition in 2018 - offers views of the docks, Freeman Street, the Humber Estuary, the iconic Dock Tower – and far beyond.

Following very extensive public consultation and majority support, plans for the demolition of the tower blocks were announced in September 2014.
