Shoreline Charity of the Year given ‘a lift’

Shoreline’s Charity of the Year has ‘been given a lift’ from a local construction hoist and mastclimber company.

Chair of Shoreline’s fundraising group Ann Maggs MBE receives the donation from Allied’s Paul Wilson

Allied Engineering Solutions donated £1000 to our employee Charity of the Year in thanks for testing a construction passenger hoist on the side of one of the housing provider’s East Marsh high-rise blocks.

The six East Marsh blocks provided an ideal location for the testing of the hoist, standing empty as preparations continue for their demolition.

Allied are currently considering the manufacture of the hoists in Grimsby which could lead to a boost in local employment opportunities.

Following very extensive public consultation and majority support, plans for the demolition of the tower blocks were announced in September 2014.

The blocks are currently secured and monitored by security as preparations for their demolition continue.

North East Lincolnshire Down’s Syndrome Family Support Group is Shoreline’s official Charity of the Year 2017. They are a voluntary parent led charity for families living in the Grimsby, Cleethorpes and wider North East Lincolnshire area of the UK.
