Apprentice electrician receives sponsorship from electrical distributor.
Ryan Coggan an apprentice electrician at Lincolnshire Housing Partnership - LHP is now the proud owner of specialist electrical tools after gaining sponsorship from Lincolnshire firm LEW Electrical Distributors.
The Grimsby Institute student had a selection of old hand tools but it became apparent they would not be compatible with the modern work he would be undertaking for LHP.
After a chance conversation between Phil Madin electrical supervisor at LHP and James Carr account manager for LEW Electrical Distributors, James was pleased to be able to offer sponsorship for Ryan and gave him tools and a tester valued at £200 in total.
James said “We helped Ryan with some tools for the job as we think it’s great that there are young people keen to get into a trade.”
Paul Courtley Grimsby branch manager for Lew Electrical Distributors said “Over the past 5 years we have built a solid business partnership with LHP, and we are delighted to play our part in helping their new apprentice Ryan. It’s fantastic to see that LHP are giving opportunities to young people to learn and develop.”
Ryan who has already gained NVQ level 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation is now studying level 3 during his apprenticeship with LHP.
Ryan said he was grateful for the tools provided by LEW and welcomed the opportunity to work and learn at LHP.
Phil Madden said: “Apprenticeships are really important for LHP and show our commitment to supporting the local community into work. Ryan has settled in really well and the tools will help with his progression.”
