Electric slide, blue roses, cowboy Charleston, tall trees. You could be forgiven thinking these are tips for the Grand National, but you would be mistaken. These are just some of the new routines Oswin sheltered scheme residents have mastered in six months since starting a line dancing afternoon in their communal room.
The residents were interested in starting a new group to keep mind and body fit and agreed on line dancing as a fun way to achieve this.
They approached Shoreline for help in finding an instructor and once one was found they were up and running (or dancing).
It has proved a popular activity as the dances are suitable for all abilities and ages and at the moment they have participants in their fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties.
The residents have embraced their instructor, who is registered blind, and of course her well behaved guide dog.
The group have grown in confidence to such an extent they volunteered to perform at the Grimsby Auditorium on Shorelines Big Day Out.
