lettings scheme celebrates first anniversary
More than 2050 families and individuals have found new homes through Home Choice Lincs – the regional choice based lettings scheme which was launched just twelve months ago.
Home Choice Lincs was created through the collaboration of North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire Councils, plus local housing providers Shoreline Housing Partnership, North Lincolnshire Homes and L&H Homes.
The partners agreed to merge their housing waiting lists and advertise all available properties in one place – providing more choice for people who can now bid for an affordable home in North or North East Lincolnshire.
In the twelve months since its launch, over 13,000 people have signed up to the scheme and earlier this month the 2052 home was let.
Home Choice Lincs is an online scheme and is a much fairer and faster way for people to get affordable homes for rent with registered social landlords. Homes belonging to the housing associations are advertised at www.homechoicelincs.org.uk, on digiTV and in local housing offices as soon as they become available for letting.
