local charity boost

Two local charities received a major boost from Shoreline employees when they presented cheques totally over £7000 to Bottoms Up and Friendship at Home.

Both charities were chosen as our charities of the year because we felt it was important to support local services that make a real difference to the lives of local people.

A series of fun events over the past year including fish and chip quiz suppers, a casino night, bake a cake days, a book exchange, name cards, ‘wear your football shirt to work’ days and a hugely successful Black and Gold Ball helped to successfully raise funds.

And, football-mad employees lined up for a prestigious charity football match on the hallowed turf of Blundell Park, raising over £2000 in just one evening.

If that’s not impressive enough, over the last four years we’ve raised a whopping £23,000 for a series of local charities including St Andrews Children’s Hospice, Crossroads - Caring for Carers and the funding of a specialist room at the Pink Rose Suite of Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

“This money will go to two worthwhile charities to fund the important services they provide to individuals across the area each and every day.

“It is amazing that we have managed to raise nearly £25,000 over the last four years – the events get bigger and better each year as the fundraising captures the imagination of our employees and they think up new and innovative ways of raising funds.

“It also shows how much support we have and we would like to thank all our employees, their family and friends, as well as our partnering agencies for providing such valuable and generous support.”

The money will be split equally between both Friendship at Home and Bottoms Up.
