creating communities to be proud of

Multi-million pound plans to revitalize the Willows housing estate will not go ahead without residents’ support.
We have made this assurance after asking architects to look at problems faced by the Willows estate.
We are looking at remodeling the estate to reduce crime and create a more inviting environment.
Head of regeneration Danny Buckley said: “There is a problem with anti-social behaviour in certain areas on the estate.
“There is an opportunity for a multi-million pound investment that would completely redesign the estate, making it a safer place to live, work and visit.
“What has been produced are initial draft plans only - they are discussion documents.
“We’re consulting with residents over these initial plans to gauge their reaction and see what we need to look at again.
“The consultation that took place at the end of last week was a drop-in session where people could meet with us and discuss any concerns.
“But we welcome the numbers who turned out to give their views. We’re determined not to shy away from consultation and, sometimes, this can be a difficult process because you’re talking about people’s homes.”
Residents complained they knew nothing about the consultation.
“If we’ve not got our communication right this time then all we can do is apologise and look at ways to ensure we get it right in the future.
We will make sure that you are informed about the latest part of the consultation process and any future meetings so that you have the opportunity to give your opinions and voice your concerns.
The Willows consultation process continues and we welcome your views – email info@shorelinehp.com or telephone 0845 849 2000 option 5.
Have you received a letter about the buy back scheme?
If you have previously bought your property from the local authority you may have recently received a letter from us promoting our scheme to buy back former council homes.
These letters are not in connection with the recent proposals for the redevelopment of the Willows.
When we first took over the running of the former council housing stock a limited budget was put to one side to buy back properties from people who may no longer wish to remain home owners.
We are actively targeting specific areas including the Willows, Nunsthorpe and East and West Marsh as part of our long term commitment to sustaining communities, meeting housing need and maintaining a target amount of housing stock.
We have approached local residents simply to gauge interest. We want to see who may no longer wish to remain a home owner but who would instead prefer to become a Shoreline tenant and still remain in their present property.
We will not be able to accommodate all requests to buy back but we want to make sure that you are aware that there are advantages to selling the property back to us and that there are other options available to you if – for whatever reason - you do not want to remain a home owner.
