Shoreline offers £1 million to support community projects

Shoreline Housing Partnership has launched a grants scheme to fund projects which will have a major impact on tenants’ quality of life.

Shoreline promised to make a difference to its tenants’ lives when it took over 8,500 former council homes in March 2005 and this is one initiative which gets to the very heart of communities.

The Community Investment Fund offers to give neighbourhoods the funding to carry out projects which will make a real difference and to do this we have Shoreline’s Regeneration Grants Programme.

Sticking rigidly to a strict criteria, the Community Investment Fund is aimed at projects which achieve one or more of the following:

  • Tackles crime and the fear of crime
  • Improves the environment
  • Supports young people
  • Helps the unemployed to get back into work
  • Helps to build community spirit
  • Improves quality of life

There are three schemes available which tenants groups, residents groups, voluntary groups and other partners and stakeholders can apply for. They are:

Community Grant Scheme Cash sums up to £250 for voluntary, community and tenants’ groups working on regeneration-led initiatives

Neighbourhood Grant Scheme Cash sums up to £5,000 for tenant and residents groups to deliver schemes which produce significant outcomes for the community

Investment Grant Scheme Grants for amounts over £5,000 for projects which need cash over a longer period of time which make a lasting contribution to Shoreline’s communities. Investment Grants are not open to a bidding process and interested groups or organisations would first need to discuss their project idea with a member of Shoreline’s Regeneration Team.
