New-look proposals considered by planners

The next crucial stage in the future regeneration of the estate has now taken place - with the formal lodging of the planning application to the local authority.

North East Lincolnshire Council’s planning committee will now consider at length the proposals for the new-look estate - and a decision on the outcome is expected by the end of the year.

The planning application for the 400 + new homes, their design and proposals for the surrounding open/play spaces, traffic and safety issues incorporates a range of ideas and views from the many residents who contributed to the overall masterplan earlier this year.

Stamford Homes and Shoreline Housing Partnership have lodged the application for outline approval of the site.

This application also seeks detailed approval for the first phase of the project, to build the initial 67 homes - and asks the local authority to approve the style of homes being built and the open space areas associated with the first phase.

Residents and people living close to the estate will again be given an opportunity to have their say - through the local authority’s legal consultation process. Notices will be issued in writing to those concerned, and council notices will also be displayed in the area.
