Fact finding tour
Residents from Grimby’s Yarborough estate jetted to the other side of the country to embark on a fact-finding tour of a regenerated housing project.
We, alongside partners Stamford Homes will be transforming Yarborough into a multi-million pound housing showpiece for the town over the next eight years.
And to enable existing residents to gain an insight into what the future revamp could hold, Stamford Homes funded a study tour of a similar, completed, scheme in Plymouth.
A cross section of Yarborough residents got a bird’s eye view of the Gun Wharf estate.
Residents were able to meet people who have been through a similar experience to what they are about to, ask them questions and discuss any concerns. The tour also provided an invaluable insight into what can be achieved when everyone works together to regenerate and create a community for the long term.
Shoreline Director of Neighbourhood Services Murray Macdonald said: “We assured residents of the Yarborough that they would be involved in this redevelopment and be consulted with at every stage and this study tour is an exciting part of that consultation.”
