If you are a resident of the estate you are bound to have lots of questions and we hope that these will provide you with the answers.

Q. How long will the redevelopment take?
A. The redevelopment will take up to eight years to complete.

Q. When will building work begin?
A. Building work is due to begin in Spring 2008

Q. Will I have to move more than once if I remain on the estate throughout the redevelopment?
A. The aim is that the redevelopment will take place in stages throughout the estate, so that once tenants have moved from their home into another part of the estate (known as an internal decant), this will be their only move until  their new property is ready.

Q. If I choose to stay on the estate during the redevelopment, will I receive help with moving from my home into another property on the estate?
A. We will arrange and pay for the removal of your belongings including connection of cooker and refitting of carpets and curtains where possible. We will also redecorate the property you are decanting to to a standard. This standard is to be agreed.

Q. What happens if you cannot remove my carpet?
A. If your carpet is not able to be refitted we will provide cord type carpet to the rooms that you have carpeted in your present home.

Q. Will I receive any compensation for the disturbance?
A. Shoreline will pay £250 per tenancy for the disturbance. If you owe us any rent or charges then we will take payment from this amount.

Q. What will my children do about attending the school?
A. Children of the families that agree to stay on the estate throughout the redevelopment will still be able to attend the Yarborough school.

Q. When will demolition start and which part of the estate will be demolished first?
A. Work has been completed on demolition of phase one. We will inform residents of the dates and areas of when and where the demolitions will be taking place as soon as they are available.

Q. What will the properties look like? What will the size of the gardens be?
A. This will all be decided during the master planning sessions in consultation with residents.

Q. Will rents go up when we move into the brand new properties?
A. The rents that tenants pay are set by the Government and not Shoreline. Annual rent increases will be in line with these guidelines and not because you are living in a new build property.

Q. What is happening to those residents who own their own property?
A. Every resident who owns their own property on the estate has been visited by a Shoreline representative to discuss the situation and each case is being dealt with individually.
