In each issue of Shoreline News, your tenants’ newsletter, our chief executive Tony Bramley will be answering one of your questions so send him a question right here, right now! Answers will be published in future issues of Shoreline News and on this page, see below. You don't have to leave your name but if you would like a personal response remember to leave your contact details.
Oops...someone asked Tony the following question but they forgot to leave their contact details. We didn't want you to not get a response, so here it is:
I live in Wigan in a private landlord property. My disabled wife is struggling as the property isn’t suitable and we are both struggling to pay the rent as we are only on benefits, but we want to move into a suitable home in North East Lincolnshire. How do we apply straight away?
To apply for a home, you need to register with HomeChoiceLincs – the choice based lettings for northern Lincolnshire. You can do this by going to www.homechoicelincs.org.uk and clicking on the ‘Log in / My account’ button.
Please make sure you include as much information as possible about your housing need and that you have any supporting documentations such as medical letters, child access letters available as evidence will be requested.
Once your application has been assessed and activated, which will take between seven and ten working days, you will be able to place ‘bids’ on properties that you are eligible for and that suit your needs.
Each week or ‘cycle’, the available properties are advertised via the HomeChoiceLincs website.
At the end of the advert cycle, which runs from Wednesday morning until Monday midnight, each property bidding list is processed and the successful applicant is contacted within three working days - so please make sure you keep your contact details up to date.
I hope that helps but if you have any other questions then please let me know.
We look forward to welcoming you to North East Lincolnshire!
